The noise level of this HDD is not too loud, but I can definitely hear the click/clack sounds when there is activity on the HDD.
I am not sure what makes a drive noisy. I am used to the muted clunking noise of HDDs and have never run enough at the same time, under load, for the noise to be offensive.
