I bought a few of these cables to use in a church environment where things get abused more than I would like, and so far they have held up well.

The cable I prefer is cheaper and non-gold plated, although it may not have the same capacitance and noise rejection as the Planet Waves American Stage cable.
I had the same problem even after switching the cable.
I would not use this type of cable on stage as it is not robust enough to handle being coiled and uncoiled and walked on.

I prefer the cheaper non-gold plated cable because the gold plating wears off after repeated insert/remove process and it is not useful unless the socket is also gold plated.

The signal quality of the cable is poor and it keeps fading repeatedly. I tried to fix it by wiggling the cable but it still had the same issue. Other cables worked fine. Based on my experience, it is a poor quality cable.
