About Fluke 62 Max Infrared Thermometer
Overall Feedback:
89% positive
90% praised for its high accuracy
The infrared thermometer has been dead-on accurate for everything I have tested it on.
This device is accurate within 1 degree.
82% appreciated the extra features
I like the dual lasers feature on the thermometer.
I like the large display and legible characters of the thermometer.
77% appreciated the long battery life
I have been using the same battery for two years, indicating good battery life.
83% praised for its easy calibration
I contacted the company who did the calibration of the thermometer and received the calibration certificate and supplemental report by email within a few hours.
I tested the accuracy of the infrared thermometers and found that both were very close to the reference temperature, measuring only 1.2 degrees Fahrenheit above it.
87% praised for its long distance to target
I was puzzled by the red laser indicator dots at first, but then I understood that the two LEDs are aimed in an offset manner so that the two dots at the target both separate and rotate (with respect to the vertical axis of the instrument) as the distance to the target increases. The rotation gives an additional feedback on the distance-to-target allowing that to be controlled more precisely, if desired.
92% found it easy to operate
I have purchased several infrared thermometers and this one is the most accurate and easy to use among all of them.
The controls are easy to use and the temperatures are accurate and reproducible. The battery life is also good so far.
The thermometer is easy to use with two bright red laser-dots indicating the aim. It can also display current/min/max/avg temperature.
The thermometer is simple and easy to use for anyone, and is well constructed.
I found the unit easy to set up and use with simple and foolproof controls. I had it up and running within ten minutes of delivery.
83% liked its fast response time
I find the response time of this infrared thermometer impressive and it must be in the 500ms range for fluctuation.
75% appreciated the wide temperature range
I compared the surface readings inside an insulated box to the air temperature measured with a NIST certified digital thermometer. The measurements were within 0.1 to 0.3 degrees F, limited to a range of 75-90 degrees.
I tested the accuracy of the IR thermometers in a controlled environment using a calibrated precision reference thermometer and found that both thermometers measured 1.2 degrees Fahrenheit above the reference temperature and were very close to it.
The thermometer's accuracy is sufficient for making reasonable deductions.
