I have been using this lamp for a couple of months now and I have to say I am very happy with the quality of the product and the price. I stopped using all 3 of them after the first bulb burnt out and only used one lava lamp at a time to conserve the bulbs life
I thought it was a light bulb, but I didn't read the comments, and Amazon doesn't want them back.
I was so happy that the bulbs that came with the lava lamps lasted as long as they did, that I didn't have to leave them on for days at a time.
I ordered a new light bulb because I realized I wasn't the problem and that I could get away with it.
This is one of the few times where the product has been very simple and cheap and works perfectly for me, so I usually don't expect much out of this type of buy.
Question & Answers
Does the bulb have a medium base?
I ordered the 25w bulb from Amazon and it's an S11 with an R17 Intermediate base.
Is it normal for these to only last about a month using them at night in a lava lamp for about 3 hours per day?
We are fortunate to get a month out of them, because our kids use them at night.
Is anyone else's bulbs packaged in a small white box?
The bulbs for this model are the original lava brand bulbs, which are in a lava brand packaging.
I have a Wizard lava lamp that has a dimmer, will these bulbs dim?
No, these bulbs don't dim.
Does the 40 watt fit the original 1972 lava lite?
I got a 40 watt replacement for a 15 watt base, it runs hotter than the e17 base, so it heats up a lot more and faster.
