About Braun MQ505 Multiquick Hand Blender
Overall Feedback:
93% positive
81% appreciated the variable speed control, but 19% found it unreliable
I use this immersion blender most of the time at full speed as it has a two-speed unit.
The immersion blender only has 2 speeds and the low speed is not low enough, resulting in sauce splattering everywhere.
I find the immersion blender not sturdy and lacking speed control with both speeds being practically the same.
87% praised the included attachments, but 13% found them unnecessary
The set includes a couple of top-notch accessories and other accessories are not necessary.
The blender attachment works very well and can even handle tougher vegetables like carrots.
Attaching the accessories requires close attention due to the scalloped edge and similar curve sizes. It is not obvious which way to attach them at first glance, so I have to line them up just right.
91% liked the stainless steel blades, though 9% found them prone to rust
I have noticed that most hand blenders make a mess when the blade lifts from the materials being blended, but the Braun immersion blender does not cause normal splashing.
Rephrased: Most hand blenders make a mess when the blade lifts from the materials being blended, but the Braun immersion blender does not cause normal splashing.
I sliced my thumb open on the blades while washing the immersion blender with soap prior to first use. This indicates that the blade design of the immersion blender is sharp and may cause injury if not handled carefully.
92% found it easy to clean
I found it easy to clean the immersion blender, especially the beaker, with no spills and a quick rinse with soap.
I found that the two heads of the blender can be removed for cleaning, making cleanup much easier. They were also very easy to clean.
88% found it comfortable to hold, though 12% experienced fatigue
The hand blender is a little heavier and more awkward than my perfect fantasy hand blender, but it's not bad ergonomically.
I have painful neuropathy in my fingers and holding down the buttons is too painful for me to use.
93% praised its powerful motor
The older model had more power and was variable speed, but the newer model still handles everything I used it for before with a lower powered motor.
75% appreciated the quiet operation, while 25% found it too loud
My immersion blender does a great job at mixing without making any noise, unlike my regular blender.
I considered getting a full blender because of noise sensitivity, but this immersion blender is really quiet compared to a full blender or magic bullet.
When I pushed the ON button, the mixer made a buzz noise but the blades did not move.
When I plugged in the immersion blender, it made a metal-on-metal whistling sound, indicating that it may not be functioning properly.
92% liked the compact storage design, but 8% found it bulky
I use Kindde bags and Kindde attachment spoons and spout for my food storage system.
The immersion blender doesn't come with a storage container, but I'm not deducting a star because of its value for money.
I would like a container to store the immersion blender.
The only downside of the immersion blender is that it doesn't come with a storage bag, which is inconvenient.
The immersion blender has variable speed at my thumb print.
