I have a hack to eliminate the bad taste from the hydration-pack. I wash it thoroughly, fill it with water, add lemon juice and freeze it overnight. Then, I take it out and let it defrost in the sink for a few hours. After that, I empty the water and rinse it. This method worked for me to get rid of the bad taste.
