About Tech Drive Bathroom fan 50 CFM, 1.0Sone DC Motor
Overall Feedback:
84% positive
67% appreciated the adjustable settings
I found it easy to separate and put back together the different components of the fan in a small space, indicating that the adjustability and controls of the product are well-designed.
81% found it easy to install
The installation was easy and it fit perfectly in the area where the light was.
I am satisfied with the no attic access installation of the product.
78% appreciated its energy efficiency
The fan consumes only 7w and is energy efficient.
90% liked how quiet it operated, but 10% found it too loud
The noise level is much quieter than the original one and can still be heard from 30 feet away with the door open and an empty house.
I compared the noise level of this fan with the Broan 688 and found that it has roughly 1/3 of the noise level of the Broan 688, which is substantially noisier and at least 60% cheaper.
The noise level has been reduced by 70% and it is so quiet that I can hear my husband without yelling. I can relax and hear the water fall instead of the former, blasting fan.
The new fan makes the same sound as the old fan but is 1/10th as noisy.
79% were satisfied with its safety features
After using the fan, I noticed a 90% decrease in noise level and improved air flow. The fan has safety features for noise level and air flow.
I found it easy to separate and put back together the different components of the fan in a small space, indicating that the adjustability and controls of the product are well-designed.
The fastening system is badly designed and the support arms are flimsy and rattling inside the guide on the chassis of the fan. The biggest issue is the unbalanced motor/squirrel cage moving air, which makes the whole fan body rattle. It is unbalanced by simply rotating it with your hand, resulting in a lot of vibration and noise.
I wired the product into the light switch, which was challenging. I use a small heater to warm the bathroom when showering, but the fan exhausts the heat, so I have to disconnect it during showers. It would be helpful if it had an inline thumb switch.
