About JPOWER 12 Inch Exhaust Fan Wall Mounted
Overall Feedback:
83% positive
76% appreciated the adjustable settings, but 24% found them confusing
I found the drawing in the item description helpful and only needed minimal adjustments to fit the fan according to my CAD model.
The wiring connection box is small, so one needs to be careful while getting a proper cable clamp and wire nuts in there.
After installing the fan, I realized that the temperature controls are backwards. The fan stays running till it reaches the high temperature set by me. Thus, it will not work for cooling a room, but it can be used for warming a room.
75% liked its powerful airflow, but 25% found it insufficient
I use a low budget high-flow fan that pulls lots of air through a commercial hood filter and exhausts moisture and heat.
The fan has a high airflow capacity of 1800 CFM.
The fan has high airflow capacity and pulls lots of air through a commercial hood filter, exhausting moisture and heat.
I am keeping the fan only if it continues to run as it is not powerful enough to move much air.
The fan's airflow capacity is similar to that of a 20in box fan.
I find the product good, but it doesn't move air very well.
The airflow capacity of the fan is less than what is mentioned in the specs.
80% praised its long-lasting durability, but 20% experienced premature failure
I solved the problem of the fan vibrating a lot when it was first installed by wedging a couple of small pieces of foam rubber between the wire fan guard and the metal base. Now it is very quiet.
While removing the electrical knockout, I noticed that the spot welds securing the electrical box to the motor body are weak. Half of the welds on one side broke.
I doubt the durability of the fan due to the strain on the bearings from the vibration. I will update when it fails.
I feel the vibration of the fan throughout the house, especially on the second floor.
86% found it easy to install
I found it easy to install the fan in the side wall of my house.
If we make the frame 14 inches, it will fit between studs easily and allow for an easy install.
The fan is reasonably priced, easy to install, of good quality, and quiet.
75% appreciated its energy efficiency
The fan has a capacitor motor which makes it more efficient than typical big box store motors.
I observed that the fan's energy efficiency was indicated by a 10 degree drop in temperature within a few minutes of operation.
I have used the fan through one northeast winter and plenty of rain, and it has lasted through it, indicating its energy efficiency.
72% liked the easy-to-clean design, but 28% found it difficult to maintain
I have installed a light weight dust filter over the intake side to prevent heat/AC loss and filter contaminants from escaping the workshop.
The fan pulls lots of air through a commercial hood filter and exhausts moisture and heat.
The fan keeps the room at negative air pressure and removes smoke or acrylic fumes effectively.
I was concerned that the fan would be too noisy, but it turned out to be not the case.
I did not use the speed control that came with the unit.
