About HG Power 8 Inch Kitchen Exhaust Fan
Overall Feedback:
96% positive
94% appreciated the adjustable settings, but 6% found them confusing
The fan was a wonderful addition to my kitchen and saved the day.
I suggest a variable speed control to reduce noise/speed, but I am unsure if it can push them open.
95% liked its powerful airflow, but 5% found it insufficient
The fan moves a good amount of air.
The fan moves a lot of air, specifically 576 CFM.
I estimate the airflow capacity to be around 50-60cfm, which is less than the rated capacity. When I compared it with my 120mm computer fans that are rated for ~90cfm, I found that they moved more air than this fan.
94% praised its long-lasting durability, but 6% experienced premature failure
The fan is durable and long-lasting, made of high quality materials including stainless steel.
The fan is made of thin gauge stainless steel and should be very rust resistant.
I expect the fan to be durable and have a long service life.
I will have to wait to see how long the fan lasts.
94% found it easy to install
The installation was straightforward and easy. I strongly suggest it to anyone who has an old style kitchen with an exhaust fan in the wall. The fan comes in three colors and I have the silver one at my house. It looks great and works great.
I found the fan easy to install with the 4 pre-drilled holes in the corners.
The installation was simple and easy with the plug-in connection and power switch built into the power cord.
I found it easy to set up the unit, replacing the existing green house unit.
Installing the fan is easy and it operates quietly. It also efficiently exchanges air in the shop.
I installed the fan in no more than ten minutes since I already had the hole in the wall to mount it.

86% liked the easy-to-clean design, but 14% found it difficult to maintain
The stainless steel face and blades look great in the kitchen and are easier to clean than plastic.
After a two hour job, there are no toxic fumes.
The stainless steel face and blades are easy to clean and look great in my kitchen.
I had to remove the two flappers behind the fan motor as it had vibration noise which was too loud at the beginning.
87% appreciated the mounting options, but 13% found them limited
I mounted the exhaust fan in the garage window and use it to pull out heat at night and dust when working.
I mounted the fan differently than intended and it worked well. I added a screen to keep out bugs and vermin and mounted it blowing into my sound insulated aluminum box with the generator inside.
I like how the dampers close automatically when the fan is mounted and balanced properly.
I need to use separate mounting hardware for the fan.
I put a fan speed controller switch on it and wired it into the wall of my room. At full speed, it's a bit loud, so I usually run it at half speed which works fine. If I need to cool things off quickly, I can switch it to full speed.
