I used the timer for two seasons in my vegetable garden, then it sat unused for 2 years. When I started a new garden this spring, I was shocked to see that it was still alive, just needed fresh batteries and it still remembered my previous settings. I was expecting to replace it, but it still works. The battery life of the timer is good and it can be used for a long time.
