About Roland FP-30X 88-Key Digital Piano Bundle with Roland KSC-70 Stand
Overall Feedback:
93% positive
86% liked the seamless app integration, but 14% encountered issues
The layout of controls is great with useful EQ and sliders, and a 'piano design' function for tweaking if needed.
The FP-30X is not compatible with the Piano Partner 2 app, so many claimed keyboard functions cannot be used.
92% appreciated the key action
The weighted keys and adjustable action are ideal for my needs and the sound with earphones is just what I was looking for.
The keys have a great feel and the UI is easy to use even if I only read the first two pages of the user manual before first play.
The keys have the same weight as an acoustic piano and are aesthetically pleasing.
91% praised the sound quality
I enjoyed my first hour on the piano and found the sound quality amazing.
The sound quality is great, but by default it sounds a little muffled which can be easily fixed by upping the brilliance setting.
I am still experimenting with the great range of instrumentation, tone and sound quality it offers.
The product has fantastic touch, quality of musical expression, samples, and speaker sound. I compared it with other products in the same price range and found it to be better than most of them.
As a novice on piano, my first hour was pure joy creating insane sounds with an amazing sound engine behind it.
94% appreciated the connectivity options, though 6% wished more
I find the included DVD with the digital piano very helpful and am still learning about the cool features.
I faced trouble with the MIDI features and received a complicated driver setup from Roland. I tried to make it work on mixpad but could not succeed. The bluetooth works as a receiver ok.
86% praised the sleek and compact design, while 14% didn't
The layout of controls is great with useful EQ and sliders. It also has a 'piano design' function for tweaking if I care about that.
I chose the FP-30X because of its realistic piano touch and heavy pressing feeling, similar to an acoustic piano.
The pedal looks like it was added by Austin Bazaar and is of better quality than the one that comes with it.
The keys of the piano are beautiful and have the weight of an acoustic piano.
I almost broke the piano because the stand was unstable.
79% found the pedal functionality useful, but 21% thought it was sensitive
I found the deluxe sustain pedal to be very convenient with its polarity switch. I haven't tried the default foot switch because the sustain pedal is so good.
I have been unable to contact anyone to resolve the issue with the sustain pedal included in my order, as it does not work properly.
87% were satisfied with the portable design, while 13% weren't
The weight of the piano may be difficult for some people to handle, but I personally don't find it a problem.
The stand is unstable and the piano almost broke. Being a tall person, it's a huge issue.
The keyboard is difficult to carry around because it weighs over 50lbs.
My favorite feature of the app is that it analyzes songs in the iPad and displays chords so that I can play along.
