About Torchbeam D3S HID Headlight Bulbs
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
74% found the plug-and-play installation, yet 26% were dissatisfied
I was initially worried about the plug in part not fitting well because the corners were more rounded, but it fit just fine.
To install the bulb, first remove the complete headlight and then use a t10 head screwdriver to remove the bulb assembly. It's helpful to use a small magnet on an extension to avoid losing the screw inside the headlight assembly where things are extremely tight.
73% were impressed with the compatibility, while 27% encountered difficulties
I found it difficult to install the headlight bulbs, but I managed to get it done.
I faced difficulty in locking the bulb in place because of the thick black circular lip. It was nerve-wracking to connect the bulb without breaking it.
76% highlighted the color temperature, whereas 24% didn't
The bulbs have a longer warmup time of 30 seconds before their true color comes out, which is longer than normal for HIDs.
I noticed that one of the bulbs was flickering and had a different color - warm yellow. This is disappointing.
72% liked the brightness level, but 28% didn't
I noticed that the light output allowed me to see further down the road and to either side, as it was much brighter, crisper, and cleaner.
The bulbs were too dim for me to drive.
The brightness level of my headlight-bulbs has decreased to the extent that it does not even light up the road at night.
During night use, the halogen bulbs were ineffective and dull for me, making it seem like I had no lights on.
I found the installation of the headlight-bulbs to be difficult despite watching YouTube videos. I had trouble removing the dust cap, unscrewing the lamp, unplugging the HID bulb, and dealing with the short cable for the connector. I had to do a lot of the installation by feel.
I rated the ease of installation as very poor, not due to the bulbs but rather the poor design of the Flex headlamp assemblies.
