About 511 Impregnator Sealer
Overall Feedback:
89% positive
84% found it easy to apply, but 16% had difficulties
I found it easy and quick to apply, and waited a day then applied again and waited 3 more days so it could cure.
I found the sealer easy and quick to apply. I reapplied it after waiting for a day and then again after 3 days.
I found the product easy to apply with a small sponge brush, but it has an odor somewhat like diesel.
It is very easy to apply and work with, but I suffered damage to myself while inhaling it, even with proper protection.
80% appreciated its moisture resistance
This sealant is moisture resistant and has better performance than water based sealants. It puts out fumes like an oil based paint, so good ventilation and a respirator is required to apply it. I did two applications and now water beads up and rolls off all surfaces like it's scared! Even the next day, the water based sealants didn't do that. I hope this lasts several years. So far, so good!
The sealant has made my marble shower and sink waterproof, and water now beads up and rolls off all surfaces like it is scared.
81% praised for its strong adhesive, while 19% found it didn't hold well
I found information on the sealer I used and purchased it from Amazon.
For my next sealant application, I have decided to switch to another product.
80% appreciated its fast drying time, but 20% had to wait too long
It took approximately 10 hours for the sealer to dry before running the shower.
The sealant dries completely in about 12 hours and looks fantastic.
I have to apply the product and then wipe it off, allowing up to 72 hours for drying.
It took three days for the product to dry and still wasn't dry to the touch.
I let the product set for 72 hours as noted, but some areas of bath tile still stained when totally dried.
75% praised for its long shelf life, while 25% found it expired quickly
The product did not last for 20 years as warranted. My granite counter-tops began showing discoloration and staining after six weeks of ordinary household kitchen use.
I expected to re-apply the sealant annually if I was buying it, but the statement of 20 years is not truthful.
The sealant needs a touch up already, just a couple of months after using it. This indicates that the shelf life of the product may be an issue.
I suspect that the product may have been old stock or underfilled at the factory, resulting in the underfilled product.
92% appreciated its wide temperature range, but 8% found it failed in extreme temperatures
The sealant has good adhesive strength and stops water from seeping through grout joints, letting it bead up and flow off the patio.
