About EMSHOI Lined Journal Notebook - 120gsm Thick Leather Journal
81% were impressed with the portability, while 19% found it bulky
This journal is not portable enough for me as it did not fit in my mini backpack.
80% highlighted the paper quality, although 20% found it thin
The paper has a good cream color and is smooth.
I have noticed that the paper is slightly see-through from pens, but it hasn't bothered me yet.
The paper quality is not suitable for fountain pen use as the writing spills and bleeds through, rendering the back of the page unusable.
I am disappointed with the paper quality of the notebook. Several of my gel pens, mildliners, and tombows ghosted on the paper, and I cannot use Staedtler textliners.
86% found the page layout useful, although 14% didn't
The pages have a grid space of 28x40.
I have complained that the binding makes it difficult to use the front of the first and the back of the last ruled page. Separating the blank pages and their neighboring page is also difficult. An extra blank page at the front and back would have made all of the ruled pages equally usable.
The dots are not perfectly aligned from one page to the next, which is frustrating when using it as a planner.
For two-page layouts, it is difficult to use as the dots do not line up from one page to the next.
80% liked the ink compatibility, but 20% noticed smudging
I have noticed that the pages are thick and there are no issues with bleeding ink.
The paper causes ink spots on facing pages as it allows the ink to stay wet for longer than other journals I have used, making it unsuitable for my purposes.
The paper is not compatible with Monteverde ink as it causes bleeding and renders the back of the page unusable.
79% liked the cover durability
The cover holds up well even when I throw my journal around. It has a plastic tactile feel, but it doesn't bother me.
74% praised the closure mechanism, although 26% found it inconvenient
When I put a highlighter in the pen holder, the notebook does not stay closed because the magnet is not very strong.
