About C.R. Gibson MJ5-4792 Brown Bonded Leather Notebook
68% were impressed with the portability
The journal is big enough to write comfortably and small enough to pack in anything I might take with me to my seat.
I carry this notebook in my tank bag on my motorcycle to jot down my thoughts while on trips.
The notebook is portable and convenient to carry, yet large enough to put a bit of text on each page.
The book packs neatly and compactly.

64% highlighted the paper quality, although 36% found it thin
The notebook is a great option for fountain pen users and has superior paper quality compared to the ubiquitous Moleskine.
I have used my Pilot Custom 823 with a bold nib on this notebook and experienced very little show through and zero bleeding, indicating good paper quality.
I have complained that this journal has smaller pages made of cheaper paper stock than the black journal. Also, using a Pilot V5 gel pen causes bleeding through to the opposite side of the page.
The paper quality is thin, rough, and transparent. I also question whether it can take fountain pen ink or not.
65% found the page layout useful, although 35% didn't
The lined pages are suitable for me with messy handwriting.
Each page is roughly half the size of a standard sheet of paper with a line width similar to a college ruled notebook.
I faced an issue with the journal where the lines do not reach the edge of the page and there is a large margin on each page.
I received a product with page lines that only extend across 70% of the page, leaving the other 30% useless.

67% liked the ink compatibility, but 33% noticed smudging
I have used Pilot Custom 823 with a bold nib filled with Diamine Majestic Blue ink and noticed very little show through and zero bleeding, indicating good ink compatibility of the notebook.
I have used a specific pen with a bold nib and a specific ink on it that has very little show through and zero bleeding.
I write in regular ball point pen all the time and it does not affect the quality of the adjoining pages.
The pages are not suitable for ink pen, but a ball tip works fine.

64% liked the cover durability, while 36% noticed it wore out
The cover is durable to water damage, sweaty or dirty paws, and book bag shoving.
I initially thought that the cover would be softer due to its leather-like feel, but it turned out to be strong and durable.
The binding is great and the book lays almost flat, allowing me to reach the innermost section of the margin without ripping the book apart.
The cover is stiff, making it difficult for me to open and write comfortably.

The notebook has a built-in 'bookmark' ribbon and a separate color-matched elastic to keep it closed.
The elastic closure mechanism is of good quality and does not wear out quickly.

64% appreciated the binding strength, but 36% found it weak
The notebook/journal with a sturdy leather binding, bookmark, elastic band, ruled pages and a pocket in the back flap, similar to a Moleskine.
The notebook has exceptional binding and is durable.
The binding is strong with a handy elastic loop to keep the journal closed and safe.
The cover was curling and the binding had twisted when I came back.
