About Amazon Basics Classic Notebook, Line Ruled, 240 Pages, Black, Hardcover
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
79% were impressed with the portability
The notebook is a great size and would fit in most purses without taking up too much space.
76% highlighted the paper quality, although 24% found it thin
The notebook has high-quality, thick, acid-free paper that is resistant to yellowing over time. It is a pleasure to write or draw on with minimal ink bleed-through, even with fountain pens or markers.
I find the paper quality poor and the cover cheap cardboard, making it not a good notebook.
I am dissatisfied with the paper quality as it has a wrinkled look and is stiff.
The paper is thin and smooth with no tooth for pencil drawings. Pencil drawings show through to the backside, while ink bleeds through.
76% found the page layout useful, although 24% didn't
The graph-ruled pages are perfect for various tasks, from creating organized lists and diagrams to sketching or doing complex calculations. The grid lines are clear and consistent, aiding in neat and precise work.
The grid lines on many pages don't match up, which is a defect in the journal.
I dislike the page layout of the notebook. The pages are not white and they are only 5 inches wide, which is not what I wanted (5.5 inches wide would have been better).
It is annoying when bullet journal layouts do not line up across both pages.
79% liked the ink compatibility, but 21% noticed smudging
I am impressed with the ink compatibility of the notebook after writing on several pages with different pens and inks without any showthru or bleedthru.
It's a pleasure to write or draw on as there is minimal ink bleed-through, even with fountain pens or markers.
For writing with fountain, dip or roller pens, it is not suitable. However, it works well with ballpoint or gel pens.
I draw in ink pen and marker on semi-glossy paper, but it smears the ink immediately.
The pages are thin enough that a simple .2mm black ink pen shows through to the other side of the page.
The lines are too close together and the paper is too thin, causing the ink to bleed through and making it difficult to write on both sides of the page.
75% liked the cover durability, while 25% noticed it wore out
I noticed that the notebook cover is causing residue and staining everything it touches.
The cover quality is not great and it starts peeling off after some use.
When using a straight edge to draw a line, I need another notebook to prevent bending because the hard cover is flimsy.
80% praised the closure mechanism, although 20% found it inconvenient
The notebook has an elastic bookbinding strap to keep it closed and an included fabric bookmark attached.
The notebook has a ribbon to bookmark the last page and a rubber band to keep it closed.
I like the strap that keeps the journal closed.
The elastic band is a great feature to ensure my notebook remains closed if it gets jostled around or dropped.
My notebook's closure mechanism is not working properly as it won't close all the way when placed on the desk.
I have noticed that the edges of the notebook become bent or mangled very easily, which is a complaint about the closure mechanism.
The notebook's closure mechanism is flawed as its edges get bent or mangled easily.
The notebook strap came free after only 10 openings and closings, without even using it. This indicates that the closure mechanism is not durable and negatively affects my experience.
72% appreciated the binding strength, but 28% found it weak
The glue binding is terrible and makes loud noise when I turn the pages.
My binding has almost completely come apart and the elastic closure has fallen out of the cover.
After 2 months of light use, the binding is coming off, exposing the cardboard beneath.
I put a pen clip in the binding and it ripped off because it was brittle.
My notebook's binding is wearing through due to friction from handling and taking it on and off the shelf.
The journal's binding is of poor quality as it cracked loudly when I opened it for the first time. Additionally, it is stiff and will eventually split.
I have noticed that the binding is fragile and does not hold up well even under light strain.
The notebook is compact and fits easily into my scrubs or white coat pocket without being bulky.
