I didn't have to remove the flow restrictor as it increased the water pressure to my shower.
Adjusting the water pressure is super easy by taking off the water adjustment thing inside.
The water pressure through this shower head is great even with the water flow filter in place.
I can lower the water flow if desired.

I suggest removing the water adjustment thing inside to improve the spray direction, and it's easy to do.
I noticed that the sprayer had a crack and sprayed water up to the ceiling.
After a few months, the small spigots are out of whack and water sprays everywhere instead of being concentrated in the middle.
