I have to charge the device once a day, which is similar to my previous Apple Watch.
I tried to test the solar capability of the watch and found that the charge did not change even after keeping it in direct sun for several hours.
The battery life is not as expected. With a full charge, it tells me that the battery will last 25 days, but I am only getting 10 days out of it. I use the timer for about 20 minutes a day and track a couple 1.5 hr workouts twice per week.
The device has a solar option which theoretically enables unlimited battery life, but in reality, this won't be the case for most people. Garmin claims that the watch needs 3 hours of moderate sun exposure a day, and only in smartwatch mode, not using the GPS.
73% liked the clear display, but 27% found it hard to read in bright light
The screen is easily viewable in bright sun and dark with backlight. It's a black and white screen, not a power-hungry OLED, which means basic maps.
I find the screen quality of the device to be a bit washed out when looking at it from a normal glance. I have to twist my wrist to look at it straight on at what I believe is 90 degrees.
The screen is small and crowded, making it difficult for me to read small details without glasses.
88% appreciated the ample storage capacity, but 12% found it limited
I use more juice than the solar charging can soak up from sunlight because I work out 1-2 hours a day using the GPS function, so my battery is slowly decreasing.
During my dive trip, the watch failed even though I was within the depth range of its 100M rating.
92% praised its water resistance, but 8% experienced water damage
The device is great for tracking an athlete and is sturdy and waterproof.
The device's water-resistant capabilities make it an ideal companion for water sports enthusiasts.
I complained that the water resistance rating of the watch is false. The watch was supposed to be rated for 100M, but it failed when I was on a dive trip, which had a max depth of 130ft, and before the watch failed, the max depth was only 89ft. I reached out to Garmin for repair or replacement and was told that only their dive watches are rated for scuba, despite the watch having a 100M rating and a water resistance rating of 10ATM1.
I noticed that the watch leaked through the buttons when exposed to water, which resulted in the internal components getting fried.

The unit is accurate, consistent, precise, and efficient.
