About Maglite Mini PRO LED 2-Cell AA Flashlight
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
64% appreciated its adjustable beam focus, although 36% found it limited
If the Maglite unit had a more durable contact or a handy push button switch like the NiteIze upgrade, I would have given it a five-star rating.
75% appreciated its long-lasting battery life, but 25% experienced quick drainage
With daily use of less than 10 minutes per day, the battery life lasted for 2 years.
The battery life is fair and the initial brightness fades relatively quickly.
I'm done with the flashlight because it never turns on reliably, dims, and eats batteries.
85% were satisfied with its brightness, while 15% found it dim
In some situations, the flashlight is almost too bright to use.
The torch is easy to switch on and very bright, which can disorientate an attacker at night.
I think the LED light and brightness are fine, but I'm not sure if the company has researched what other companies are making.
I am satisfied with the brightness of the flashlight, but I need to bang it in my palm to turn it on after twisting the head, indicating a possible problem with the connection or something.
The flashlight is not consistent or durable as it only stays bright for 1 second before dimming.
84% praised for its rugged construction, but 16% experienced durability issues
Maglite is usually associated with a great, nearly indestructible product.
After two months of use, my maglite started to dim when turned on, but it was a saviour for me to go out at night.
I suspect that the LED overheated the battery closest to its end in the flashlight, causing it to die while the other battery remained functional.
I own one of the worst flashlights ever. It flickers and sometimes refuses to turn on, making it unreliable.
67% liked the intuitive switch and interface, but 33% found it confusing
After less than a week of use, I have reported that the switch of the torch is faulty. The spring-loaded mount in which the LED resides is sticking, causing an intermittent fault.
I suggest purchasing a $2 NiteIze tailcap switch to permanently fix the issue of the light flickering and shutting off. This switch allows the user to turn the light on and off without compressing the fragile spring.
87% appreciated its water and shock resistance
An all aluminum construction is worth the ruggedness even if batteries leak and parts fuse together.
The standard bulbs that come with the flashlight are not always the brightest, but I can easily fix it with an LED kit that can be picked up relatively cheaply.
The tail cap design is unreliable and the light only works if the tail cap and tail cap cover are screwed into exactly the perfect position.
