About Dorcy 55 Lumen Floating Water Resistant LED Flashlight
Overall Feedback:
83% positive
83% appreciated its adjustable beam focus, although 17% found it limited
I chose the green color for my flashlight so that it's easy to find and distinguishable from others in my house and other places.
The switch to turn it on is a little difficult to use and too small. I have to press it with the tip of my thumb. It could have been designed better, but I am getting used to it.
I noticed that the flashlight's focus is not adjustable.
76% appreciated its long-lasting battery life, but 24% experienced quick drainage
I needed a flashlight that could last for at least 7 hours continuously on and this one met my requirements with only one set of batteries.
The battery life of our handheld flashlights is not good. After only a few battery changes, the copper on the disc that the LEDs are soldered to flakes off, leaving the unit dead in the water.
I tried different batteries but the flashlight stopped working shortly after. I had to throw it away.
I cannot turn on the switch again as it does not switch off.
82% were satisfied with its brightness, while 18% found it dim
The flashlight has a carabiner clip on the butt end and is bright enough for outages.
The flashlight emits distracting rings of light when trying to view something in the dark.
The beam is bright for the first few feet but dissipates quickly beyond that. It also has a bright center circle with a secondary ring that is not bright at all.
The light is very bright, but it is not waterproof.
84% praised for its rugged construction, but 16% experienced durability issues
The flashlight is rugged enough to withstand a drop from 3-5 feet onto a firm floor, with a rubber coating.
The flashlight is said to be somewhat waterproof and can float if dropped in water, but I haven't tested it myself.
The flashlight is small and lightweight, but I assume it's not too durable.
I was satisfied with the product until recently when half of them stopped working completely even with new batteries.
I am concerned that the flashlight may break easily if it falls or gets bumped.
I dropped the product once and it broke within minutes, indicating poor durability.
82% liked its comfortable grip and handling, though 18% found it awkward
The flashlight is very durable and light.
The beam is bright for the first few feet but dissipates quickly beyond that. It has a bright center circle with a secondary ring that is not bright at all. The focus is not adjustable and the clip on the back could be useful to some but I would rather have a flat bottom so that the light can reflect off the ceiling to light the room.
The switch to turn it on is too small and a little difficult to use. I have to press it with the tip of my thumb. It could have been designed better, as suggested by me.
77% liked the intuitive switch and interface, but 23% found it confusing
The on/off switch is positive and there are no high/low or strobe options.
The flashlight has a carabiner clip on the butt end for perfect hanging during an outage.
The switch to turn on the flashlight is difficult to use and too small. I have to press it with the tip of my thumb. It could have been designed better, but I am getting used to it.
The product is perfect for a kid, but the rubber/silicone covering the on off switch comes off easily.
76% appreciated its water and shock resistance, but 24% experienced issues
The flashlight is rugged enough to withstand drops from 3-5 feet onto a firm floor without breaking.
The flashlight broke after a single drop on the ground, indicating insufficient water and shock resistance.
I noticed that the batteries oxidized instantly when the light was half in the water for 30 seconds, even though the cap was screwed on tightly. This indicates that the light is not waterproof.
The light is not waterproof as the batteries oxidized instantly when it was half in the water for 30 seconds, even though the cap was screwed on tightly.
The flashlight feels like a toy.
79% liked its lightweight and compact design, but 21% found it bulky
The flashlight is small, lightweight, and exactly what I expected for the price.
The flashlight is compact, has multiple modes, and is functionally quite bright. I can still see what I am shining on without being blinded by piercing brightness.
If the Maglite unit had a more durable contact or a handy push button switch like the NiteIze upgrade, I would have given it a five-star rating.
