About HOLOSUN HE507C-GR X2 / HS507C X2 2 MOA Dot & 32 MOA Circle Open Reflex Pistol Sight
Overall Feedback:
88% positive
82% liked the mounting compatibility, but 18% didn't
If I use a pistol mounted flashlight in the dark, the light sensor on the sight will not sense the light and the reticle will not brighten, making it impossible to see in very dark conditions.
I bought this item because it was highly rated and was supposed to come with a picatinny mount, but it didn't.
78% liked the magnification range
I can adjust the reticle to be much brighter when aiming at a target in full sun by changing the mode to manual.
80% were satisfied with the battery life, but 20% weren't
I received the dead battery with an advertised battery life of 50,000 hours, assuming it was well used to kill the battery.
87% appreciated the adjustment mechanism, while 13% disagreed
I have found that having the battery in a slide tray on the side of the unit is a big advantage over other products like RMR, which have a bottom-loaded battery. With RMR, one has to take the unit completely off the firearm to change batteries and then re-zero the red dot sight all over again.
The controls and adjustments are fairly intuitive, but keep the manual handy as there are several operating modes that can be cycled through with various button presses.

The auto setting light sensor on top is great and reacts fast, but if I use a pistol mounted flashlight in the dark, the light sensor on the sight will not sense the light and the reticle will not brighten, making it impossible to see in very dark conditions. However, I have found a remedy to this problem.

The ACSS model has a 230 MOA outer ring that helps me acquire the dot faster and shaves off tenths of a second from my aim time, even as an experienced user.
I found the optic window too small and the shroud too thick, causing a shade or shadow to my eyes. This resulted in half of the optic being in view and the dot being off-center.
