I can see what some people say about the part of Velcro on the inside of the loop that actually retains the firearm being exposed and potentially scratching the slide with repeated use. I use it in a way that makes it come in contact with the trigger guard and not the slide and I can't see any scratches.
I can adjust the retention of my firearm by slipping it under the elastic straps provided by the product.
The retention strap doesn't hold the gun in place effectively as the front sight gets hung up often. I had to loosen it to the point where it doesn't offer any retention.
