I am satisfied with the durability of the punches as they are made of a much higher quality hardened steel than what was used on the leather punch.
I used 3M super tough duct tape on both sides of the material and folded it in half to create 2 layers of material and 4 layers of tape. I believe it is strong and don't anticipate any issues.
