About Lumax LX-1152 Black Heavy Duty Deluxe Pistol Grease Gun
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
69% liked the variety of compatible accessories, while 31% found limited options
I am frustrated with the compatibility of the grease gun with my John Deere tractor front end loader. The coupling has some kind of design flaw and it has eaten up my John Deere grease fittings.
It is difficult to remove the fitting from the zerk without breaking something.
I faced an issue with the coupler not releasing from the zerk fitting.
I couldn't release the grease fitting, which caused it to break off.
On better grease guns, the coupler is adjustable, but not on this one.
I found that the coupling came off easily at an angle, indicating poor accessory compatibility of the grease gun.
72% appreciated the easy cleaning process
I purchased the product after reading the manual for my riding mower and found that part of the maintenance is to keep the mower greased up. It's the same for cars.
For daily greasing, consider a battery powered grease gun. This one is good enough for DIY maintenance.
67% found it comfortable to hold and use
The grip of the grease gun is super comfortable to use while greasing numerous machines at the same time and delivers quite a bit of grease.
I appreciated the pistol grip feature of the purchase, which allowed me to keep the grease gun secure with my off hand when working in hard-to-reach places.
I have owned dozens of grease guns over the years and 99% of them are junk, indicating that I have personally faced this problem.
74% appreciated its rugged construction, though 26% experienced breakage
This grease gun puts more grease into the joint than on my hands.
After a month of using the grease gun, it started to leak everywhere when I replaced my outer tie rods with ones with zerk fittings.
When not in use and loaded with grease, the grease gun leaked on me a little bit.
73% found it easy to reload and operate
The push-on coupler is easy to use and works great.
The new grease gun with a hose makes it much easier for me to access some of the grease nipples, compared to my previous fixed tip gun.
This grease gun is easy to use compared to old school spring loaded hair trigger monstrosities.
71% liked the large grease capacity, but 29% needed frequent refills
The grease gun does not put out as much grease as claimed, despite the hose being rated for 4500 psi.
I noticed that the grease gun leaked grease at the trigger and bleeder valve. This indicates that the grease capacity of the gun is not good enough.
The grease gun's capacity is not good enough as it leaks grease at the trigger and bleeder valve.
77% liked the long and flexible hose, while 23% found it too stiff
The flexible hose has a cover for the tip and is well built.
With this hose, it is much easier for me to reach some of the grease nipples compared to the previous gun with a fixed tip.
The hose seems a little flimsy compared to my old one.
77% praised for its leak-free design, though 23% experienced spills
I noticed that one fitting was loose and it would have leaked if it was not tightened. This indicates my experience with the leaks and mess control of the grease gun.
I complained about the load lever slipping and grease pouring out of the new cartridge, making a mess on my hands and in the garbage. It was a negative experience.
I noticed that the grease leaks more at the trigger that connects to the assembly head.
I am using Mobil One Synthetic Grease and it is easy to tell because the red stuff really stands out as it comes out of every part of the top of the gun. The grease gun leaks from the top like almost every fitting.
After a month of using the grease gun, it started to leak everywhere when I replaced my outer tie rods with ones having zerk fittings.
The grease gun is leaking from every thread and sealing point on the cap, indicating poor leaks and mess control.
72% praised for its quiet operation, while 28% found it too loud
I was happy with the grease gun until I noticed grease leaking out of it at the trigger and the bleeder valve.
I got frustrated with the product and spent a few minutes working with it, eventually getting covered in grease and throwing it away.
I realized that the zirc fitting on my grease gun is not letting go while doing a grease job on my car. I tried to move it around, pull, push, twist but it absolutely will not let go.
70% praised for its high pressure output, while 30% found it too weak
The connection can sustain 4,500 psi of pressure and should not pop off.
The grease gun is a medium duty unit producing moderate pressures.
The pressure lock was not strong enough and caused trouble while loading the cartridge.
My ancient old grease gun builds more pressure than this grease gun.
I am frustrated with the compatibility of the grease gun with my John Deere tractor front end loader. The coupling has some kind of design flaw and it has eaten up my John Deere grease fittings.
It worked well for the first 2 tubes of grease, but now I can't pump a tube past halfway.
