About Lincoln 1162 Fully Automatic Heavy Duty Pneumatic Grease Gun
77% liked the variety of compatible accessories, while 23% found limited options
I was able to use 1/8 NPT hoses and accessories after modifying my Lincoln grease gun.
I found the accessory difficult to use as it was not compatible with the grease gun.
81% appreciated the easy cleaning process, but 19% found it tedious
Oil-Well Lubricant Dispense Systems Inc. helped me with the problem of the grease gun and worked with me to cover the repairs and replacement through Lincoln's warranty.
I suggest buying latex gloves to make cleanup easier while using the grease-gun.
I took the gun apart, gave it a thorough cleaning, lubricated the pneumatic piston with light oil, but it still did not work. So, I disassembled it again and found that the valve in the back of the piston that is supposed to open after each stroke to let the pressure out was stuck closed. I was able to open it and clean the area around it. Used some Teflon spray lubricant on it while working it back and forth. Reassembled and the ram is cycling again. Hoping to try it out today for a real test.
I was advised by the company to clean the trigger and air passage.

78% found it comfortable to hold and use, while 22% experienced fatigue
I find that the gun is a bit heavy due to its durable metal construction for commercial use. The rubber grip on the handle is nice, but the trigger is made of plastic. The heavy duty springs on both ends of the high pressure hose prevent kinking, but I find them to be in the way and require a good grip on the hose.
89% appreciated its rugged construction, though 11% experienced breakage
I haven't used the gun enough to determine its durability.
91% found it easy to reload and operate
Using the grease gun is very easy by tapping the trigger, unlike manual guns that spew grease.
The product works fantastic and is as easy as those big canister greasing set-ups. It is also easy to change between types of grease simply by replacing the cartridge.
I own the best grease gun ever, which is super easy to load. I also built an air line with a built-in water separator and pressure regulator to run pneumatic equipment, allowing me to control the flow rate.
86% liked the large grease capacity
I can now grease each press in under 30 minutes, indicating that the grease gun has a good grease capacity.
90% liked the long and flexible hose, while 10% found it too stiff
I was frustrated with the manual grease gun because of the flexible hose fitting onto the zert and pumping the grease gun. Rephrased: I found the manual grease gun frustrating because of the flexible hose fitting onto the zert and pumping the grease gun.
73% praised for its leak-free design, though 27% experienced spills
The new gun doesn't leak like the old one, which caused a mess.
I have a LocknLube tip on my grease gun which eliminates any mess around the fittings. I almost look forward to greasing things now.
I complained that the grease gun leaked grease in a huge pile on the garage floor.
I had to open the vent and clean up the mess because of the grease leak.
85% praised for its quiet operation, while 15% found it too loud
The grease gun cycles every 2 seconds and puts out a shot of grease.
If you have rubber boots on your equipment, they will blow right off.
The grease gun leaked grease in a huge pile on the garage floor.
87% praised for its high pressure output, while 13% found it too weak
If using the rubber hose, set the pressure at 90psi.
When using 120 PSI shop air pressure, the grease gun is non-functional.
