I noticed that the TI-83 Plus lacks some important features I wanted in a graphing calculator. However, the TI-84 Plus has display improvements that make it easier to follow my work. For example, instead of showing a square root symbol followed by parentheses on the 83, the 84 puts my number or formula underneath a square root sign. Similarly, instead of showing exponents next to the carat symbol (such as 3^8), the 84 makes the exponent into a superscript next to my number, variable or formula. These display differences really improve clarity when reading back or troubleshooting formulas.
