I use the pens constantly for my sketchbook and traditional illustrations and they work fabulously. It's probably because everything in Japan is top quality.
The ink is slightly chalky but still opaque. It is not as vibrant as other inks, but still useful for coloring. Leave a blank space in the coloring and fill it in later with the Signo pen to make the white stand out.
The ink in the American version doesn't flow well and appears washed-out instead of bright white.
