The drying time of the gel ink pen is near-instant. I tested it by drawing a line and running a finger behind it as soon as the ink hits the paper. For thicker lines, it can take around 1.5 seconds, but for all practical intents and purposes, it is near-instant.
I have noticed that most of the pens I ordered have dried out ink and become scratchy after a short period of time, which is the case with about 75% of them.
