About PowerSmart 21 in. 170 cc Engine 3-in-1 with Mulch
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
67% liked the clean cutting performance, but 33% experienced uneven cutting
I was only able to cut a few patches of grass with the mower constantly spitting white smoke and leaking gas.
67% praised the durability, while 33% experienced breakage issues
After four months of use, I have found that the mower is now unusable. The plastic cannot handle the heat from the mower and several parts have broken off, including one wheel, the back guard, and the peg that holds the panel where the grass catcher attaches. The bottom of both sides of the handle at the bottom has also broken off.
70% found it easy to operate and maneuver, while 30% had difficulties
I have a technique for starting mowers that has worked on this mower and others with primer bulbs. I press the primer bulb 20-30 times before starting and it usually starts on the 1st or 2nd pull, sometimes the 3rd.
I put together the lawnmower easily and it took me about ten minutes to get it ready.
I have to frequently stop, clear, and re-start the mower because it keeps getting jammed with grass, making it difficult to use. This indicates that the mower is not user-friendly.
65% praised the engine power, while 35% found it lacking
I found that the mower lacked power and had flimsy wheels.
My mower became useless after I ran over a rock and the engine encasement cracked.
65% appreciated the easy maintenance, while 35% found it difficult
I took the mower to several repair shops and they responded by saying 'OH NO I DONT TOUCH THESE MOWERS'.
I ran over a rock with the mower after using it only four times, causing the engine encasement to crack and rendering the mower useless.
67% liked the relatively low noise level, but 33% found it loud
The gas-mower is much louder than other mowers.
62% praised the safety features, though 38% found them inadequate
The cheap thin rubber guard on the back of my mower does not stay on, which is a huge safety issue.
I contacted customer service again as oil started spewing out from where the smoke was coming, and I think it's a safety issue.
I find it difficult to tighten the gas cap and it spills due to poor design.
I had to reassemble the rear grass discharge flap using wood screws to screw into the plastic after it broke off.
The handle weld on my lawn mower melted and snapped within a year of purchase.
