About Moen GXP50C Prep Series PRO 1/2 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal
90% found the continuous feed convenient, but 10% preferred batch feeding
I compared the sound of the garbage disposal to that of a garbage truck and was surprised and dismayed by its loud noise.
93% found it easy to install
I was able to easily install it by stacking it up under books to lock in the ring as it is heavy.
Installing Moen was pretty easy. I replaced a badger with it and found it much lighter.
86% praised its effective grinding, although 14% experienced jams
I have not used the disposal on bones or harder materials, so I cannot comment on its ability to grind them up.
I have noticed that the grinder gets overloaded with the rind of one orange and needs to be fed in small bites.
84% appreciated the low maintenance needs, though 16% had to clean it frequently
The splash guard restricts water from draining from the sink while washing pots/pans.
86% found it surprisingly quiet, while 14% thought it was too loud
I have read mixed reviews about the noise level, but I guess it might be a bit louder than my old garbage disposer. However, it does not bother me at all.
The garbage-disposer is not as noisy as others have complained about.
This garbage-disposal is very noisy and sounds more like a garbage truck than an in-sink grinder. I would not recommend it in apartment spaces with thin walls or floors.
