I noticed that the new unit has more features than the original one. The features include sensors to prevent closing on anything beneath the door, wall-mounted control, and the ability to be connected to your smart phone to remotely open and close the garage door.

I replaced the motor of the garage door opener and noticed that the old mounting bracket and rail lined up to the new opener. I left all the rails/chain in place and just replaced the motor, and can confirm it is compatible. The existing door sensors also worked with the new unit too.
API access for smart functionality was recently disabled, which means it no longer works with iPhones Homekit, Google Home, Home Assistant or other smart home functionality that allows me to use it conveniently via my phone or tablet.
I faced compatibility issues with my garage-door-openers. I couldn't pair the built-in 'visor remote' on my old Ford (2012) and my old Craftsman remotes won't work with the new motor.
91% appreciated the installation ease, although 9% struggled
It took me 2-5 hours to install the garage door opener and removing the old opener took even longer.

I am impressed with the remote control range of the garage door opener. The remotes can raise and lower the door from a considerable distance, and I even tried it several houses away from my garage where the garage door was in sight, and it worked immediately.
I cannot use my standard remote controls with MyQ openers due to incompatibility.

I was able to keep my LiftMaster rail and sensors because LiftMaster and Chamberlain are essentially identical products, making the installation process easier for me.
During installation, we can use many of the older parts with the newer model, such as the door eyes and brackets.
