It affected the air flow a bit compared to my previous filters, but I adjusted the fan speed to compensate for it.
Most poor reviews are due to the filter not fitting, but the actual filter size is provided, so it's unfair.

The filter can be taped or tied to the back of the fan if needed, as it is held in place by the suction of the fan.
I am concerned about air leakage around the outside of the box, which makes it useless.

I noticed that the first TechPure filter that came with my new unit was quite dirty just after 4 months, which is much sooner than the expected lifespan of 1 year. I can already feel the difference in airflow with the new filter installed.
I doubt that the filter can perform as well as the more expensive one I replaced, which may lead to a shorter lifespan of the filter.
