About Cleanomic Compostable* Gallon Size Food Storage Bags
Overall Feedback:
83% positive
71% praised for being dishwasher safe
I am impressed with the compostable food storage bags I have started using.
These bags are perfect for storing smelly or stainy things that require a more air tight lock than my reusable silicone bags can provide.
75% found it easy to use and reuse, while 25% had difficulties
I wish the bags were more transparent so I could easily see what's inside.
68% liked how it kept food fresh for longer, but 32% noticed spoilage
I am satisfied with the product.
The sandwich bags do not keep my bread fresh and it becomes stale by lunch time.
I have personally experienced that the food stored in these bags dries out within a couple of days. For instance, I stored freshly baked croissants in the bag, which dried out within two days.
76% liked that it's freezer safe, but 24% found it became brittle
I tested the bags by putting grains in them and keeping them in the freezer. They performed fine and did not melt even when the grains were relatively hot.
We have had no leaks with these baggies.
I am unsure about how fresh the food keeps in these bags.
66% appreciated the easy labeling system, while 34% found it difficult to write on
I desire the bags to be compostable in a home compost pile, in addition to being compostable in a commercial composting facility.
I have complained about the excessive printing on the bags, which covers one whole side with writing and stylized plant and veggie art.
Being compostable is misleading as the bags are only compostable commercially and the box notes that facilities may not exist in some areas.
82% praised for its durable material
The bags have a good seal, are medium thick, and have a compostable plastic smell which is not as strong as other compostable bags.
The bags have a different texture than plastic or silicone.
70% appreciated the moisture-resistant material, but 30% experienced condensation
These bags are perfect for storing smelly or stainy things that require a more air-tight lock than my reusable silicone bags can provide.
The compostable zip lock bag is ideal for disposing of wet garbage.
I have complained that the bags are not moisture protected. When anything moist is thrown into the garbage can, parts of the liner start to thin out, feel slightly sticky, and rip. Trash spills out of those areas when taking the bag out. The same happens with the lunch (sandwich and snack) bags.
69% liked the space-saving design, but 31% found it too bulky
Using plain paper bags for my greens can allowed a large amount of insect infestation. These bags don't provide any way for pests to get to food scraps.
The bags worked well without any tearing or leakage.
I have experienced that the garbage bag liner becomes thin, sticky, and rips when wet items are thrown in, causing trash spills while removing the bag.
With limited dexterity, I find it very easy to close and open the bag using the zipper pull (slider) and ensure that my stuff is secured.
