About ZYLISS Zick-Zick Classic Food Chopper
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
79% appreciated the versatility, but 21% found limitations
I use the product to chop several kinds of nuts for my birds and it's perfect for my needs.
The food chopper chops some pieces very fine, almost like dust, while leaving other big pieces untouched.
It takes a lot of pressure to go through even softer items like pecans.
85% liked the low noise level, however, 15% found it noisy
The food chopper is loud, squeaky and cheaper.
77% highlighted the efficiency, but 23% found it slow
This brand works well for much longer compared to other brands that dulled quickly and left larger chunks unchopped.
I find that the chopper works well on crisp vegetables, but not on cilantro or tomatoes. Onions can also be difficult to chop, often leaving an outside layer uncut.
I found that the chopper requires a lot of pressure to cut through even softer items like pecans and is not as sharp as expected.
The chopper does not cut all the way to the bottom of the container, resulting in incomplete chopping of veggies.
76% found it easy to use, but 24% found it complicated
It is easy to disassemble and wash the food-chopper, except for the blade.
The red cover falls off easily and food gets stuck between blades instead of cutting.
78% liked the easy cleaning, but 22% found it difficult to clean
To use the food chopper more efficiently, I lock it with the top down and the blades exposed, rinse it well, and put it in the dishwasher for cleaning.
I docked a star because it's a bit difficult to take apart for cleaning.
Cleaning the food-chopper is difficult as the pieces get stuck inside and need to be removed by hand.
78% appreciated the durability, while 22% had durability issues
I complained that the clear plastic portion of my chopper slipped out of my hands and fell into the sink after owning it for just two weeks. A fragment of plastic chipped off near the top where it screws into the chopper part.
84% liked the design
The design of the plunger is easy on my hands.
83% liked the size and capacity, but 17% found it too small
The food chopper can handle only about 1/8 cup at a time, which is sufficient for my needs, but might be too small for others.
Not all veggies get chopped as the chopper does not cut all the way to the bottom of the container.
83% highlighted the blade sharpness, but 17% found them dull
I don't get much powder while chopping because the blades are sharp enough.
The blade sharpness of this food-chopper is inconsistent, chopping some parts very fine like dust while leaving other big pieces untouched.
I can load a handful of walnut halves into the top and crank the handle for about 20 seconds to get uniform chopped nut content.
