The umbrella has a great open and close mechanism. The button on the handle flings the umbrella open fast like a chameleon capturing its prey. The close button is the same but only partially collapses the umbrella. You still need to push on the telescoping shaft to collapse completely. The video attached shows how it works. What's really cool is that if you close then open again after using in the rain, the fast nature of the opening will explode water off the shell.
