About Cone Top Chimney Cap with Screen (4 Inch)
Overall Feedback:
90% positive
82% liked its sleek and modern design, while 18% found it unattractive
I added the chimenea topper to the top of my chimenea and painted it to match. It looks good and is built well, but the price is a little steep compared to the ones available around here in Texas starting at approximately $15. I hope it lasts a few years since it was built sturdily.
I was unsure if the cap would fit my double wall pipe, but it slid right on.
I was pleasantly surprised with the design and color of the fireplace-chimney-cap once it was installed.
I am dissatisfied with the product's quality, particularly the design and material used. The aluminum alloy is too thin and fragile, and it cannot withstand the heat and moisture of the chimney.
After only a few weeks of moderate usage, the screen becomes clogged with ash and is too small and fine.
84% praised for its long-lasting durability, while 16% found it prone to rust
I am uncertain about the product's long-term durability, particularly its resistance to rust and corrosion.
I am disappointed with the product as it is not durable and does not last long. It is overpriced and not worth the money.
85% found it easy to install, while 15% had difficulties
I had to use a hammer to install the cap on the chimney, indicating its difficulty in installation.
I had to cut the edges and force it over the base, and then secured it with zip ties. This shows that the installation process was difficult.
85% liked the high quality material, but 15% found it thin
I am unsure if the product is truly galvanized and rust-proof, and only time will tell.
I am dissatisfied with the product's quality, particularly the thin and fragile aluminum alloy and mesh wire screen. It may not last long.
86% liked the perfect size and fit, but 14% found it small
I had to cut the edges of the product with an aluminum cutter to force it over the base as it did not match the standard chimney size.
The screen of the fireplace-chimney-cap is too small and fine, which becomes clogged with ash after a few weeks of moderate usage. This can cause backflow of smoke and I have to climb up and bang the screen off, which is not always easy to do.
I added the chimenea topper to the top of my chimenea and painted it to match. It looks good and is built well, but the price is a little steep compared to the ones available around here in Texas starting at approximately $15. I hope it lasts a few years since it was built sturdily.
The idea of the chimney cap is nice, but it is not suitable for me due to the creosote build-up issue.
