About Tear Mender Instant Fabric and Leather Adhesive
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
73% praised the washable nature
I have washed my jeans only once and so far it has held up.
I washed the item after repair and the bond has held through at least one wash.
75% praised the versatile use
I have repaired at least a dozen pairs of jeans, fixed minor tears in shirts and even a sweater. I also use it to apply preventative patches inside the knees of my favorite pairs of jeans as they get thinner but before they tear.
I have found that the adhesive can patch tears in barn boots, glue door gaskets back on the truck, and even keep a rug from sliding. It can glue just about anything to anything else and keep a flexible, durable bond.
72% liked the clear drying, although 28% noticed slight discoloration
I noticed that the adhesive left a suspicious looking white-ish stain on a dark synthetic material after wiping it off.
67% appreciated the low odor, but 33% found the smell unpleasant
The product has a fishy odor that disappears after drying.
When I tried to use the product for the third time, it smelled like rotting fish.
76% appreciated the non-toxic ingredients, yet 24% encountered issues
The glue is not non-toxic as it contains latex.
77% liked the ease of application
The product is easy to apply and doesn't stick to hands like messy silicon adhesives.
The fabric adhesive is easy to apply, but sometimes it comes out faster than expected, which can be messy.
Applying the product is easy by pouring it onto a hard surface and then brushing it onto the torn area.
74% appreciated the quick drying, but 26% felt it dried too fast
Adhesion and drying time are super quick, making it perfect for emergency situations and after the fact mending.
The instructions said it would dry in 3 minutes, but it took 5 minutes and I could still wipe it away with a paper towel.
The drying time of the fabric adhesive was longer than expected. It took over an hour to bond oversaturated patches and 15 minutes for other patches.
After holding the leather together for 15 minutes, it was still not dry, indicating that the drying time is longer than expected.
I used adhesive to repair a tear in my leather jacket and it turned out to be very strong as the tear is barely visible now.
