About LaCie Rugged Mini SSD 4TB Solid State Drive
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
69% appreciated the ample storage capacity
I like the design of the drive, which is already protected to some extent.
69% appreciated its wide compatibility, though 31% encountered issues with their device
The product description is misleading as it does not specify that the drive requires a separate cable for connectivity, which is not included with the product.
The drive is not compatible with my gigabyte motherboard thunderbolt port.
73% praised its rugged and durable design, though 27% experienced damage after a drop
The external hard drive is built like a tank and can withstand drops, shocks, and even pressure of up to one ton.
The external solid-state drive is rugged. I had to wrap it in layers of tape to keep the cable in the right spot so that it turns on a few more times while I extract all the data off of it.
This external drive is the worst I have ever purchased.
73% praised for its fast data transfer speeds, while 27% experienced slow loading times
I used this external solid state drive to offload some heavy parquet files and the query speed is on the same tier as storing it on my mac's hard drive.
The transfer speeds of the external solid state drive are inconsistent, varying from 1MB/sec to 40MB/sec. The older 2TB model always averages around 30MB/sec.
I am losing information in daily use due to the loose cable connection to the drive.
The external-solid-state-drive's download/upload speed is much slower than advertised. At its most efficient, I get about 100MB/s, which is approximately 1/6 of its maximum advertised speed. At its worst, it gives me about 1 KB/s which is pretty abysmal.
71% liked its compact and lightweight design, while 29% found it bulky
I have a slot on my laptop for the external solid-state drive.
I have complained that the drive is designed to be portable but has the most easily breakable port, a USB Micro B.
I have an external SSD with a substantial 2TB of storage, providing ample space for all my research needs.
