About Crucial X10 Pro 4TB Portable SSD
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
71% appreciated the ample storage capacity, though 29% found it limited
The external solid state drive is compatible with Windows, MacOS, and Android and is available in sizes ranging from 500GB to 4TB.
After transferring the data to the Crucial X10 Pro 4TB, I have less than a TB of space remaining.
75% appreciated its wide compatibility, though 25% encountered issues with their device
I have complained about the compatibility of this SSD. The drive has two partitions, with a tiny unknown partition in front of the main drive, causing issues on Android as it tries to mount the first disk/partition it comes across.
I suggest that Mac users carefully check the specifications of drives as newer Mac devices may not be compatible with them.
75% praised its rugged and durable design, though 25% experienced damage after a drop
I have found that the drive has a rugged aluminum case that can handle drops and bumps, and it is compact enough to fit in my pocket. The lightweight design makes it less prone to impact damage.
The external solid-state drive has a rugged build and impressive performance in a compact portable package, perfect for a road warrior like me.
I would prefer reliable storage with less space rather than dealing with a failing drive.
Any data in .vhdx files stored on these drives becomes unusable.
76% praised for its fast data transfer speeds, while 24% experienced slow loading times
When I ran Crystal Mark, I noticed consistently poor performance with sequential reads/writes in the 40mb/s range and random 4K read speed in the teens, and write just over 20mb/s.
I compared the benchmark values of two different SSD drives and found that the WD SSD drive had better values than the Crucial SSD drive.
I am disappointed with the read/write speeds of the drive. They are not even close to what was advertised. My Samsung T7 (1000/1000) blows it away in read/write speeds and it should be the other way around. I have also compared its performance with my Samsung T5 (500/500) and it is equal to it.
My drive's performance is being constrained by Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 standards.
I copied a 36GB UHD movie and it took me only 3 minutes and 35 seconds. I am pleased with the speed of my SSD.
