About JOIOT 250GB Portable External SSD,Portable SSD USB 3.1 Type C Ultra-Light External Solid State Drive
81% appreciated the ample storage capacity, though 19% found it limited
My 256GB drive is showing as 2TB which is incorrect.
I faced issues with the file transfer process when trying to copy multiple files of 2GB-3GB size. The copying process would pause for about 20-30 seconds before the next file would start to transfer, making the overall file transfer rate much slower than suggested by copying a single file (or running a benchmark test).
73% appreciated its wide compatibility, though 27% encountered issues with their device
The drive is plug-and-play and compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
In Windows 7, it shows up as a hard drive instead of a USB drive.
The external solid state drive makes connection and disconnect sound and after a few seconds reconnects. It is not consistent.
I faced issues with the external solid-state drive as soon as I plugged it into my computer. It froze up my computer and crashed it, which has never happened to me before while plugging in an external drive.
77% praised its rugged and durable design, though 23% experienced damage after a drop

78% praised for its fast data transfer speeds, while 22% experienced slow loading times
I found that the initial benchmark testing was terrible. I switched out the cable and used a different one than what came with the drive, and saw a huge difference. With the better cable, the drive performs close to the advertised speeds and is about 2X-3X faster.
The SSD is practically useless with its jmicron chip. Its speed is not great and its performance is worse than an expensive paperweight.
When copying large files, my write times dip below 20MB/s. Additionally, my drive gets hot and sometimes fails after more than 15 mins of sustained writing when copying large folders of 4K videos, raw files, or backing up game folders.
82% liked its compact and lightweight design, while 18% found it bulky
I keep it plugged into a USB A port and it works just as well when plugged into the USB-C port on my laptop.
This SSD drive is the best option for someone who needs a tiny portable drive. It is easy to use and shows up as drive D right out of the box.
I started having issues as soon as I plugged the external solid-state drive into the computer.
