The CD/DVD reader/writer works seamlessly with various applications including xfburn, K3b, and Brasero. It requires no configuration and plays/rips DVDs using VLC and Handbrake. I have used it with every application and it has worked perfectly.

I found the external CD DVD drive to be easy to use and flexible. I connected it to either computer with the same cable and the computer instantly recognized the drive. I was able to play 'Manon' in just 30 seconds without any setup.
The external disk drive works with USB-C, but I don't think I'll see true USB-C speeds when writing or reading a disk. It will be slightly faster than USB.

The external cd-dvd drive is a nice addition to today's ever shrinking laptop ports with 4 port USB hub, SD card slot and micro SD slot port.
I faced technical issues while using the external cd/dvd drive with USB2.00/3.00 Hubs and connectors. However, it worked perfectly when I plugged it into a USB 3.00 port on my laptop.
