I was able to use the external DVD player without any hassle. I just plugged it in and the Windows operating system opened its default video player.
I downloaded the 'DVD and Blu-ray PLUS' software to play my DVDs and the combination of the software and the external DVD drive works great.
I decided to use VLC media player as it has all the features I needed for the external CD/DVD drive.
In Linux, it works well with DeVeDe program and xfburn. Just click the NTFS box instead of PAL.

I was able to start watching the show by simply plugging in the external DVD player and inserting the DVD. The default video player of the Windows operating system opened.

Upon connection to each of the devices I use, the initial trial test went smoothly.
The device was plug and play for my Win11 Lenovo laptop.
I used an external cd-dvd drive that was recognized by the operating system every time, stayed connected always and I wrote and read about 10 disks over a few hours without any issues.
I need this external CD/DVD drive to burn dual layer DVDs and blank/rewrite CD-RWs, but unfortunately, it has failed me on both fronts while using k3b on Linux.
