I can use this external CD/DVD drive with my windows laptop as soon as I plug it into the USB port and do not need to install any driver.

I prefer the external CD/DVD drive to make a little noise so that I know it's active. The cord is short, but it can be managed if there are USB slots on the top of my desktop. If I have a laptop, I can just lay it on the table next to the laptop.

On Windows, there is no need to install additional drivers as it is plug-and-play, which is nice and convenient.
