The external CD/DVD player/burner connects and plays automatically without any issue on both Windows 7 and Mac Mini running OS10.
I was able to load the software without any issue using the external-cd-dvd-drive, which proves the device's compatibility with the software.
I wished the device came with a software disk for a specific program to edit and burn DVDs, but I figured something out to do what I needed to do.
72% liked the data transfer speed, but 28% raised issues
I was disappointed with the data transfer speed of the external-cd-dvd-drive. I was hoping for faster drive speeds because of the USB 3 cable already installed, but it did not perform as expected. This drive performed probably 30% to 50% slower than other external drives that I have used with this machine.
73% appreciated its compatibility with devices, but 27% didn't
The tablet comes with a USB A connector and a USB A to USB C adapter, allowing me to connect it to newer laptops with minimal ports.
The device has a unique setup with a USB A plug that can be used with an adapter for a USB C plug.
The 3.0 USB interface is faster than the older 2.0 and provides better compatibility with newer computers.
Windows 11 recognized my device and asked what to do with the MS Office disk.
I plugged in the external CD-DVD drive to my Windows 11 Home desktop and it worked immediately without any special cabling or additional software. I was even able to view some medical exam CDs like in the imaging center.
I have a feeling that the external CD/DVD drive is not working properly with my tablet and more software may be needed to get it to work.
