I am unable to use the drive on my Mac as it is not compatible with Chrome, Safari, and neither with my old nor new Mac. The drive immediately ejects an inserted disk and no icon appears on either desktop. I cannot read, write, export or import data.

I faced difficulty playing a DVD using VLC after plugging the drive in via USB-C. I tried several times to connect and disconnect the drive, but it didn't produce better results. After that, I used a regular USB port and tried again, but it was the same result. But after 3 tries, it recognized the DVD and I could watch the movie. I tried again with different DVD and this time it worked immediately.
71% liked the connectivity options, but 29% disagreed
I tested the connectivity options of external CD/DVD drives using powered and unpowered USB3 hubs and found that the stable connection for my needs was the USB3 port on the back of my iMac.

When I recorded DVDs using Toast 17 and played DVDs with the new Apple DVD Player, the tablet worked perfectly.
I connected it to my desktop PC and it worked.
I checked the compatibility of the external CD DVD drive with my operating system before buying it, and it was specified as compatible.

I personally tested the connectivity options of the DVD drive and found that the USB A and C connections, SD card slot, and burning a Light scribe image all worked as expected.
I plugged in the external CD-DVD drive to my Windows 11 Home desktop and it worked immediately without any special cabling or additional software. I was even able to view some medical exam CDs like in the imaging center.
I easily plugged the external drive into my new computer, loaded it with my software, and installed my programs without any issues. Therefore, the external drive is compatible with the software I am using.
