For ios system using the mac commands to eject the disk. The drive is not compatible with tv, car, blu ray, projector, tablet/smartphone. For mac OS, the DVD drive icon shows after the drive reads successfully the disc. So after you placed a disc into the drive, it won't show up immediately.
