I love the rubber covered dumbbells because they are safe to use and won't damage the floors if dropped.
The crosshatch design on the chrome handle can be slightly irritating to the bare hand when dry, but it is a safety feature during longer workouts when hands get sweaty. Gloves can also be worn as an option.
