I find the evaporative-cooler a little noisy. I use it mostly when I sleep because of night sweats and don't like waking up in a puddle. However, sometimes during the day, it's a little too noisy.
If the unit goes silent in between cooling sessions, the compressor noise becomes more noticeable.

My favorite feature of the evaporative-cooler is the assistant compatibility. It's useful for prepping the room for bedtime.
The control panel is elegant and simple, but the remote is a mess. Getting it to work is a waste of time, other than to turn it on and off. The unit is highly automated and sometimes does what I want it to do and other times does what it damn well pleases.
