It's hard for me to sleep with the noise. The unit turns on and off as needed to keep the temperature, which makes the noise come and go, and they are very loud.

I noticed that the portable AC was not energy efficient and it added $80 to my electricity bill that month.
This evaporative-cooler may be less efficient than a window unit as heat comes out of the back and into the exhaust duct.
I bought a unit that was supposed to run at 900 watts, but it turned out to be different. The 10,000 BTU model runs at upwards of 1.2 kW per hour.

The AC is too loud even on the lowest mode, making it difficult for me to sleep at night.
The evaporative-cooler is too loud to use while streaming, but it's still useful if I get hot and need to mute my mic.
Evaporative-coolers are very loud and it's hard to sleep with the noise. The unit turns on and off as needed to keep the temperature, which makes the situation even worse.

While installing the cooler, we suggest bending the outlet tube into position and sliding the unit onto the bracket to minimize movement once positioned.
I was able to bring down the temperature from 85 degrees to 82 degrees within an hour using the evaporative-cooler, despite fighting against the central heat pump heat. This shows that the cooling capacity of the evaporative-cooler is good.
In the summer, my tiny studio apartment is perfect for the compact and not too loud unit.
