About DeLonghi PACEX360LVYN WH Pinguino Portable Air Conditioner
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
70% highlighted the control options, yet 30% found them complex
I expected the air compressor to run all night, regardless of the room's temperature, with 'auto' mode disabled. The cycle repeated nearly every 30 minutes, all night, waking me up each time the unit's air compressor turned on or off.
I am disappointed with the control options of the evaporative-coolers as the display dims after some time but cannot be dimmed further according to customer support.
85% found it quiet to operate,; however, 15% noticed vibration
The noise level of our evaporative-cooler is much louder than most window units.
The cooler's noise level is very high and it sounds like a ship's engine. There are other settings with lower noise levels, but it is still very loud and can drown out conversations on hotter days.
64% were satisfied with the filter quality; although 36% weren't
I expected the air conditioner to filter out the stench by keeping out the dusty ash, but the filter isn't powerful enough for that because the fan seems to be pushing in more of the stink than I had with the windows open.
69% found it energy efficient; but 31% noticed a spike
I have not checked how much my power bill increased since I started using the cooler and I do not use the remote control.
74% liked the cooling capacity ; nonetheless, 26% found it insufficient
I was able to keep the cooler temperature down to 71f even when the temperature outside was 107f.
My evaporative-cooler has a cooling capacity of 8600 BTU, not 14000 BTU as mentioned on the website.
I expected the air compressor to run all night, regardless of the room's temperature, with 'auto' mode disabled. The cycle repeated nearly every 30 minutes, all night, waking me up each time the unit's air compressor turned on or off.
I have only drained the unit twice - once because it was full and the second time when cleaning the filters etc.
